Jose “Pepe” Fernandez
Born in Punitaqui, Chile, he moved to the capital city, Santiago, where he had a successful 14-year career in banking. He dedicated his spare time to his artistic interests in theatre and working with his hands on copper etchings. In 1975, with his partner Maureen Dwyer, he founded Pepe & Maureen Ltd., a successful jewellery gallery that built a strong industry reputation and client following. After 33 years in business with stores in Toronto and most recently in Elora, Ontario, Pepe & Maureen was closed this summer 2007 to make way for a new jewellery venture with his youngest daughter and son in-law. |
